The Make Simple Manifesto
For years they sold us the idea that software had to be more. More features, more integrations, more layers, more clouds. That every app needed a microservices architecture, an AI model, a monthly subscription, a social login, an analytics dashboard, and a growth hacking team behind it.
And along the way, we forgot the essential part: an app exists to solve a problem. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Not every app needs microservices. Not every app needs AI. Not every app needs subscriptions. Not every app needs your data. Not every app needs you to create an account, verify your email, accept cookies, and set up your profile before you can use something that, deep down, should be as simple as opening and using it.
Make Simple is getting back to basics: software that does one thing, does it well, and charges you just once.

We don't shove a chatbot into every corner just to say we're "AI-powered". If the AI doesn't solve a real problem, it's not there.

Why we charge just once

Enough with the empty rewards
Honestly, I'm tired of the new apps that just gave up on people's ability to focus. At some point, the industry decided we're incapable of simply doing things and being done with them.
Our brain is constantly getting stimuli that trigger the reward system. Rewards, praise, and other incentives can help us reinforce certain behaviors, but we don't need to turn every activity into something that has to give us an immediate reward. It's also okay to learn to do some things simply because we want to, because we like them, or because we know they're good for us — without constantly needing a prize, approval, or gratification to keep going.
You don't need to take care of a plant, a pet, or whatever else just to give your good habits some value. And yet, for some reason, companies decided the human capacity to just do things and be done was lost. So they built a game around everything.
No empty rewards for your brain. Just you and your goals. Just you and what you set out to do.
